WHO IS
ENCORE PLAYERS
(Keep scrolling to find out!)
Encore Players, a registered 501(c)(3) based in Livermore, California, was founded in 2014 to produce and perform high quality community theatre.
Several of its founders were members of the former Cask and Mask, a pioneer amateur thespian troupe in the local performing arts scene for over 50 years. Cask and Mask was known for its performances in a rural one-room 19th century schoolhouse.
Encore Players’ original motivation was to provide acting opportunities for “seasoned” actors. It has since broadened its scope to include actors of all ages, experience levels, and backgrounds. Encore Players believes it’s valuable for both the actors and the community to create opportunities for youth and seniors (and everyone in between) to share the stage and learn from each other.
Beyond opportunities to act, direct, and produce plays, Encore Players offers a chance to participate in any or all aspects of theatrical productions, including set design, set construction, audio engineering, lighting, and event marketing.
Encore Players produces 1-2 full-length plays per year, as well as several limited-run staged readings or shorter performances at local libraries, community events, and assisted living communities.
Encore Players strives to produce socially relevant, thought-provoking, slice of life material, with an emphasis on poignant dramas with comedic aspects.
Encore Players is committed to being a diverse, inclusive, and equitable theatre group, where all participants - regardless of their gender, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, education, disability, sexual orientation or identity - feel welcome, valued, respected, and safe.
